Presidents’ Messagearkin

A question that comes up often – Is there a Jewish community in Palm Coast?  My answer is yes!  The question where, usually follows and the answer I give of course is, at Temple Beth Shalom, where the Jewish Community has been served for over 40 years.

The question that I have to raise here is  (read more)

Rabbi’s Message

There is nothing more exciting in a Rabbi’s life than having a Synagogue life that is fuller than full; with joyous events!  Whether it is concerts, classes, mah jong parties, holidays, or special life cycle events, the sound of voices zev1filling the Temple is music to the ears.

March is going to be one of those super busy exciting months. First, we have a Rock and Roll Purim, carnival, and Chai Drawing on March 12; which always proves to be fun for everyone.  Then the following weekend, March 17th & 18th, we are  (read more)

Men’s Club Message

Wow, we are coming off two great events!MichaelGindin

First the Latke party was a huge success.  Great food cooked by Abie Bockish and I would like to thank everyone who helped set-up, served and attended.  We had many new faces, so continuing to get our name in the community will help with membership as well as participation in our events by non-members.  Everyone helped clean up including guests so it was a nice team effort to have and fun community event.  Everyone bringing their menorah and speaking about them was a great idea Rabbi Zev had and was lots of fun. Now the pressure is on the Rabbi to come up with something else for next year’s party.

Tree of Life!

Have you noticed the Tree of Life” on the wall to the right of the bima?TreeofLife

Have you wondered, “What does it represent here at Temple Beth Shalom”?

Have you taken a close look at the golden leaves that adorn that huge tree?

If you are like many who visit the Temple, you might have answered “NO!”, to one or more of the questions.  This beautifully crafted display was presented to the congregation by Minnie Bubes and Family, in loving memory of Phil Bubes.  Its purpose at the time of dedication was to record “Celebrations of Life” in contrast to the Yahrzeit Board across the sanctuary.  Each leaf adorning the tree celebrates a life event; a marriage, a birth, a birthday, an anniversary, a bar mitzvah, a bat mitzvah or even just a name.  There is space on each leaf for up to four lines of text so there is room to personally express your thought.  If you are interested in a leaf or leaves they are only $36 each.  Call the office to get further information.

Take a moment, when at the Temple, to look at the Tree and see how families and friends were celebrated over the years and visualize where your leaves would go.
